In a YouTube video from July 6, 2026, <strong>he broke down his Independence Day chest workout and offered form tips.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cutler is one of bodybuilding\u2019s greatest legends. He reached the top of the sport in 2006 after dethroning eight-time Mr. Olympia <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/ronnie-coleman-profile\/\">Ronnie Coleman<\/a>. His reign didn\u2019t last long. <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/dexter-jackson-profile\/\">Dexter Jackson<\/a> seized the throne in 2008 when Cutler was unable to present his best.<\/p>\n<p>The following year, Cutler cemented his legacy as an all-time great Open competitor. Despite being counted out, he won back the Sandow trophy with his iconic <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/jay-cutler-quad-stomp\/\">quad stomp pose<\/a>. Before stepping away, the Massachusetts native claimed four <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/history-mr-olympia\/\">Olympia<\/a> titles. I\u2019m going to do 8 or 10 reps. This is going to be our first set,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=di5GPmTA-u4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">shared<\/a>. \u201cThese are just feel sets, I\u2019m not going to go super heavy, but a one-two motion.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"seated-calf-raises\">Seated calf raises<\/h4>\n<p>He believes calves are similar to arms and respond to time under tension rather than strictly weight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cOne thing about calves, they have to be contracted. So, just like arms, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s a weight thing, oh I need to add weight constantly. I feel like you do need the tension, but the most important thing is time under tension, making the weight feel like it\u2019s 10-times more than it is.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"incline-chest-press-atlantis\">Incline chest press (Atlantis)<\/h4>\n<p>Cutler chooses to pause at the bottom of the incline chest press because he says it enhances his mind-muscle connection.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhen I pause at the bottom, I\u2019m just getting that mind-muscle connection. So, sometimes, you notice I pause, it\u2019s more to reset and get a feel for things. I\u2019ll do sets of this weight, and then I\u2019ll bump up, maybe to three.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"standing-arsenal-chest-press\">Standing Arsenal chest press<\/h4>\n<p>He assumed a middle grip on the standing chest press with two plates attached to each side of the machine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll focus on this middle grip, straight in the middle, guys, so nothing on the end or inside. I\u2019ll get a little bend so I can get under it, I got two plates on each side. I\u2019m not coming up and touching these together, keeping that tension.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"cable-chest-press\">Cable chest press<\/h4>\n<p>His next movement was the cable chest press, which he performed seated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLow seat, this can be used as a fly, press, I\u2019m going to be using it as pressing, just for tension. Pretty standard.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"dumbbell-pullover\">Dumbbell pullover\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p>He finished with a chest-focused dumbbell pullover and used a diamond-shaped grip to hold the weight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWith the dumbbell pullover, I\u2019m going to focus on the chest. I used to always talk about the grip. I\u2019m going to hold the dumbbell like this [diamond shape with hands], and I\u2019m going to drag it all the way through here.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The last time we heard from Cutler, he was sharing his go-to workout for a quad pump. According to the decorated Pro, the <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/jay-cutler-names-his-1-exercise-for-quad-pump\/\">leg extension machine was crucial<\/a> to advancing his leg development during the prime years of his career.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cutler is still pushing the pace at 52, training seven days a week.
