It is recommended that you speak with your doctor before making changes to your current nutrition plan.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 GET MORE SLEEP<\/h2>\n<p>It sounds so trivial, yet if you want to lose weight without exercise, you are going to need to get the <a href=\"https:\/\/aasm.org\/seven-or-more-hours-of-sleep-per-night-a-health-necessity-for-adults\/\">recommended minimum of seven hours of sleep each night<\/a>.\u00a0 When you do not get enough sleep, not only are you tired all day long, but your stress hormones go through the roof and can cause you to be hungry more frequently \u2013 ultimately leading to weight gain from overconsuming calories.<\/p>\n<p>Control your sleep to control your hunger and put yourself in the position to make smart nutritional choices and drop some weight in the process.<\/p>\n<h2>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 TRACK YOUR CALORIES<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019m a huge fan of MyFitnessPal and have seen several of my clients achieve amazing results by simply tracking their calories via this free app.\u00a0 When you hold yourself accountable for your nutrition and what you put in your mouth (as well as how much), you have a better chance to lose weight without exercise.<\/p>\n<p>While a calorie is not a calorie and we could spend an entire article writing on that topic alone, it truly comes down to how many calories you are consuming on a daily basis versus how many you burn at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p>If you are in a caloric surplus (excess calories that are higher than your maintenance needs), you can gain weight.\u00a0 If you are in a caloric deficit at the end of the day (fewer calories than needed for maintenance), you can lose weight.<\/p>\n<p>Tracking what you put in your body will make you accountable for every single one of the calories you put in your mouth \u2013 you just need to be honest with yourself by actually putting in the correct information and being dedicated to doing so.<\/p>\n<p>You would be amazed by how many calories you are actually consuming on a daily basis if you aren\u2019t currently tracking them.\u00a0 I highly encourage you to try this if you want to lose weight without exercise.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"lszUiOU0sd4\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lose Weight Without Exercise? Here\u2019s the Secret!\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lszUiOU0sd4?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 SIMPLY MOVE MORE<\/h2>\n<p>I can hear people already shouting at me for this one.\u00a0 \u201cBut Matt, moving more is basically like exercising.\u00a0 Exactly how does this play into the subject \u2018How to Lose Weight Without Exercise\u2019 if I still need to move?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>First off, you move every day \u2013 that\u2019s nothing new.\u00a0 Majority of you move by means of walking (unless you like jogging\/running from point A to point B).\u00a0 So, what am I talking about?<\/p>\n<p>Rather than looking for the Rockstar parking spot up front at work, the mall, the grocery store, etc., you should park further back in the lot and walk up to the store.\u00a0 Rather than taking the elevator up or down to a different floor, take the steps.<\/p>\n<p>MOVE MORE.\u00a0 Those extra calories will add up over time and can help you lose weight without exercise (the true definition).<\/p>\n<p>In the end, you won\u2019t even know you are burning more calories because you don\u2019t associate walking around the grocery store and other daily activities as \u201cexercise.\u201d\u00a0 Move more, and you\u2019ll be surprised at the changes your body makes.<\/p>\n<h2>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 EAT MORE PROTEIN &amp; FIBER<\/h2>\n<p>If you want to improve your chances of not overeating on a daily basis, then you need to consider increasing your protein and fiber intake.\u00a0 Both protein and fiber can help you lose weight without exercise by simply helping you feel satiated throughout the day.\u00a0 When you are starving, you\u2019ll eat just about anything to get something in your stomach.\u00a0 This is primarily where the wheels fall off of most diets.\u00a0 You raid the refrigerator, the pantry, or the vending machine at work \u2013 all terrible ideas.<\/p>\n<p>The key is to not only have protein and fiber in your meals, but when you are looking for a healthy snack to consume in the middle of the day, look for something like nuts, an apple, raw broccoli, beef jerky, hard-boiled eggs, cottage cheese, or even a protein shake.<\/p>\n<p>Learn to love protein and fiber, and you\u2019ll love the results you\u2019ll yield by making the change.<\/p>\n<h2>5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ELIMINATE HIGH-CALORIE AND SUGARY BEVERAGES<\/h2>\n<p>It has been shown that consuming high-calorie and\/or sugary beverages is linked to weight gain.<\/p>\n<p>Why is that?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s actually quite simple and makes total sense.\u00a0 When you drink beverages, how many of you know exactly the quantity you consumed?\u00a0 You probably don\u2019t, right?\u00a0 You go out to eat and order a soda.\u00a0 Then, refill after refill go by, and before you know it, you\u2019ve consumed hundreds of excess liquid calories that served no purpose or benefit to reaching your goals.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to lose weight without exercise, then you\u2019re going to need to put down the high-calorie and sugary beverages.<\/p>\n<p>These types of beverages serve no purpose in our diet.\u00a0 They don\u2019t help us feel full, and the sugary beverages can even make us feel hungrier.\u00a0 WHAT!?<\/p>\n<p>So, on top of taking in excess sugar that isn\u2019t healthy, you\u2019re taking in extra calories that will also increase your chances of overeating as well.\u00a0 It\u2019s a double-edged sword, consuming things such as soda and juice.\u00a0 For that reason, eliminate them from your diet.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, you should be looking to consume WATER.\u00a0 And in high quantities.\u00a0 Most people are not drinking enough water throughout the day.\u00a0 Water helps keep us hydrated, improves the health of our skin, enhances satiety, flushes out toxins in the body, and provides many other helpful benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Best of all, it\u2019s calorie-free.<\/p>\n<p>Try to keep a water bottle with you at all times, no matter where you are.\u00a0 This will give you zero excuses to not be drinking it throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>While I recommend consuming strictly water each day, I understand some people want some flavor in their beverages.\u00a0 For that reason, you can also use beverages such as coffee or green tea throughout the day.\u00a0 Just make sure you don\u2019t go overboard with the caffeine content.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><strong>Author Bio<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Matt Weik, BS, CSCS, CPT, CSN<\/strong>, is a globally recognized health, fitness, and supplement industry expert with over 25 years of hands-on experience.
