If anyone thought this was low hanging fruit, they\u2019re in for a surprise. The 2026 Toronto Pro is looking to be one of the most intense contests in North America. There are a tremendous number of top-tier competitors in the second and third call out range that will be gunning for an Olympia qualification in this very important contest. For the first time in a long time, I am actually witnessing a lot of bodybuilders getting very motivated for the Olympia. We even saw Nick Walker break from his ambiguous silence to announce he would be doing Tampa!<\/p>\n
What bodybuilder would want to skip out on the greatest show on Earth? That being said, we see some really really big names coming to Toronto. This is a special treat for the Canadian fans also because Toronto is their crown jewel, no pun intended. The reality of the matter is bodybuilding is a sport where the best of the best come together. It isn\u2019t about who\u2019s the strongest, or who\u2019s the biggest, or even who\u2019s the freakiest. It\u2019s a combination of all three things. It\u2019s a combination of more than those three things. The complexities of the sport of bodybuilding are enough to leave most fans of the major league sports dumbfounded. It\u2019s also a subjective sport so that creates that angle as well. Sometimes the judges are looking for apples and sometimes they\u2019re looking for oranges. The competitors don\u2019t know. The fans don\u2019t, either. It comes down to the work ethic and consistency. If you work hard and you\u2019re consistently at your best, you will be rewarded. It\u2019s not a question of if, it\u2019s a question of when. And that\u2019s why I think so many competitors have their eyes set on Toronto.<\/p>\n
A lot of people are looking at Ireland\u2019s Blessing Awodibu. This has been an interesting year for The Boogeyman. For years he enjoyed the fanfare of his short-lived rivalry with Nick Walker. He\u2019s also a bodybuilder that has his own nickname and has done quite a bit on television. From commercials to small parts and movies, Blessing has really set himself as one of the premier bodybuilders of his day. Although he does not have the big titles, he has been able to make a nice living from the sport. Who could complain about that? But that being said, this year was not a good year for him and Toronto might mean the turning of the tide. Awodibu definitely will have his work cut out for him because the competitors at this show are going to require him to be at his very best. There are also rumors about whether or not he can even attain his very best in the current day. He doesn\u2019t have any major injuries and he\u2019s not particularly old, but he has had a hard time as of late looking his best. So unless he can do that, I don\u2019t suspect he\u2019s going to get that coveted Olympia qualification in Canada\u2019s most iconic city.<\/p>\n
Wellington Baptista has really defined himself as a working man bodybuilder. He\u2019s sort of like a blue collar longshot meets dark horse. He has everything he needs in his physique and his condition is very good. Baptista could easily break into the Olympia top 15 and maybe even find himself just inside of the Olympia top 10. That is saying a lot for a competitor that has not competed at the biggest show in bodybuilding as of yet. He has been in the mix at several shows and that gets him the respect that many other no names don\u2019t get. He may not have won yet, but he\u2019s on his way. He\u2019s knocking on the proverbial door. And he has sparked the interest of many bodybuilding outlets. I don\u2019t know if I have him to win in Toronto, but I definitely have him in the top three. I don\u2019t want to throw my support behind Blessing because quite frankly I don\u2019t think Blessing is going to be able to hit the mark. I do think Wellington will probably best The Boogeyman but I don\u2019t know if he has enough to win the contest. There are other guys that I have my eye on. but I will definitely say Wellington should be in the top three. He might be as high as second. Do I think he\u2019s going to win? No, I don\u2019t. I don\u2019t think he will be too far off, though, but I don\u2019t see him winning.<\/p>\n
