He invested serious money into the endeavor and signed several International Federation of BodyBuilding (IFBB) talent to large contracts.<\/p>\n<p>He used WWE television to promote the WBF and aired several promos on the promotion&#8217;s former flagship program, WWF Superstars of Wrestling. Two such promos featuring late Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior have <a data-ylk=\"slk:resurfaced on social media;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OTD_in_WWE\/status\/2064410018452005270\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">resurfaced on social media<\/a>, showing Vince McMahon&#8217;s desperate efforts to urge wrestling fans to watch his new creation.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading\">The Ultimate Warrior promoted the event as a gathering of the greatest bodybuilders<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s only because of me, Macho Man, that you seem to think you know who the winner of the first World Bodybuilding Federation Championship is going to be. Well, I would think with somebody that has recently retired, they would have plenty of time on their hands. But in the world of bodybuilding, on any particular day, each and every one of these competitors could be a winner. And on that day, the one that stands with the grand prize is no more of a winner than all the rest, for all the others walked with the same hunger,&#8221; The Ultimate Warrior said in the first promo.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All of my warriors have always believed in personal fitness, and this is why they shall follow me to the Personal Fitness Expo, June 15th (1991) at the Taj Mahal (Trump Taj Mahal\u00a0in Atlantic City). From there we shall march into what is and what shall be the premiere of the World Bodybuilding Federation Championship and witness the greatest bodybuilders of all time!&#8221; he said in the second promo.<\/p>\n<p>Coupled with financial losses and bad timing due to the 1991 steroid scandal, the World Bodybuilding Federation turned out to be a failure. In July 1992, Vince McMahon personally contacted IFBB&#8217;s co-founders Ben and\u00a0Joe Weider to inform them that he was disbanding the WBF.
