More than 80 athletes, including five women competitors, took part in the 10th State Level Bodybuilding Championship held at the D.K. Convention Hall, where Tame Peter Tarh secured the coveted \u201cMr Arunachal\u201d title in one of the state\u2019s biggest bodybuilding events to date.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Organised by the Arunachal Body Building Association under the aegis of the Indian Body Builders Federation and the Northeast Body Builders Federation, the championship featured a total prize pool of Rs 10.10 lakh, reflecting the growing scale of bodybuilding and physique sports in the state.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tarh also won the \u201cChampion of Champions\u201d crown and received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh. The runner-up and second runner-up in the category were awarded Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000, respectively.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The men\u2019s bodybuilding competition was conducted across six weight categories ranging from 55 kg to 85 kg. Winners in each category received Rs 30,000, while second and third-place finishers were awarded Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Athletes from several districts and training centres competed in different categories, with the event drawing a large audience and members of the fitness fraternity from across the Northeast.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Yaza Yangfo emerged as the winner in the women\u2019s category, with organisers highlighting the increasing participation of women in bodybuilding competitions in Arunachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Among the prominent personalities present at the event were international bodybuilder Hillang Yajik, Mr India and Mr Universe 2022 Karthikeswar Ravikumar, eight-time Mr World Arambam Bobby Singh, and international judge Tashi Ongmu Lepcha.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Hillang Yajik said government support had helped provide a platform for local athletes to showcase their talent and dedication in the sport.<\/p>\n

Working president of the Arunachal Bodybuilding Association, Nabam Abo, urged young people to stay away from drugs and alcohol and instead adopt a disciplined and fitness-oriented lifestyle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
