I think because of the length of my quads. I think I have shorter quads and longer calves so, this seems to work better in the seated position.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"dumbbell-stiff-legged-deadlifts\">Dumbbell Stiff Legged Deadlifts<\/h4>\n<p>He moved on with stiff-legged deadlifts, noting why he prefers dumbbells over a barbell. He prioritized the pump and stretching the hamstrings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhy do I prefer dumbbells? I prefer dumbbells because I don\u2019t know, I feel a little bit of you\u2019re not restricted with the bar hitting your shins or feet or whatever. What you\u2019re trying to do here, remember, it\u2019s about pumping the hamstring so you get that blood in there. Then, stretch the cords out.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"lunges-in-place\">Lunges (In Place)<\/h4>\n<p>With lunges, he maintained focus on his hamstrings but explained that it also worked his quads.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt is a little bit of a quad [movement] but I\u2019m really putting emphasis on the hamstrings.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"lying-hamstring-curl\">Lying Hamstring Curl<\/h4>\n<p>He kept weight moderate on hamstring curls, aiming for 8-12 reps.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIn the beginning, I had a hard time feeling this movement. The pad is on a medium. We are going to do 110 and once again, 8-12 reps.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"leg-extension-machine\">Leg Extension Machine<\/h4>\n<p>He used the leg extension as a pre-exhaust movement before more taxing compound lifts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI always talk about pre-exhaust movements and how important that is. You usually get the blood going a little bit. This exercise, when you stand up, the blood is going this way,\u201d he said. \u201cI just remember how much weight I used to do on this thing. I think it\u2019s a great exercise.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"freedom-racks\">Freedom Racks<\/h4>\n<p>He completed three sets of freedom racks for glute development.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFreedom rack, pretty much a Smith machine, but it\u2019s on a slide, as you can see. We\u2019re going to do three sets here. The only reason I squat is for my ass.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"seated-leg-press\">Seated Leg Press\u00a0\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p>Lastly, he finished with 250 pounds on the seated leg press.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to do a little finisher here,\u201d Cutler <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vHx1sDNph6o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">shared<\/a>. \u201c250. What I\u2019m really trying to do, the foot position is going to be a little lower. I\u2019m actually going to point my toes out a little bit. This is really, really good on the teardrops.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Cutler doesn\u2019t just have practical tips for training the lower body. He recently outlined how to reap maximum benefits from arm workouts. He emphasized that on arm days, you <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/jay-cutler-rest-will-kill-arm-gains\/\">should never rest for more than a minute<\/a> or you risk gains.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At 52, Cutler is proving he can still maintain a high work rate with grueling sessions.
