His recent photos show incredible vascularity &#8211; his veins are literally like highways.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">Kri\u017eo confidently captioned the photos: <i data-index-in-node=\"35\" data-path-to-node=\"7\">&#8220;Chest day today. 4 weeks out ? 133 kg&#8221;, and<\/i> didn&#8217;t forget to add his favourite, purely ironic hashtag <b data-index-in-node=\"135\" data-path-to-node=\"7\">#babybiceps<\/b>. Looking at his gigantic arms and massive, rippling chest, it&#8217;s clear that his upper body is almost 100% ready for the stage. To maintain that kind of hardness and separation at 133 kilograms is proof that this year&#8217;s preparation is coming out on top.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"8\">To keep the bottom from lagging: The secret to new legs<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Having one of the best tops in the IFBB Pro League is a huge advantage, but you need a complex physique to win a title in New York. Kri\u017eo was well aware that his lower legs needed to match his dominant arms and shoulders in volume and quality. That&#8217;s why he revealed a major change in his training split a few weeks ago (roughly 5.5 weeks before the contest).<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">What is the secret to his leg progression this year? <b data-index-in-node=\"49\" data-path-to-node=\"10\">The end of complex workouts in one day.<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote data-path-to-node=\"11\"><p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11,0\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><small><strong><i data-index-in-node=\"0\" data-path-to-node=\"11,0\">&#8220;I split my leg training into two separate days.<\/i> <\/strong><strong><i data-index-in-node=\"0\" data-path-to-node=\"11,0\"> One day I train the hamstrings along with the calves and glutes, while I train the quadriceps completely separately,&#8221;<\/i> <\/strong>the Slovak pro<strong>explained <\/strong>his new strategy.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">This tactical move allows him to devote maximum energy to each muscle part of the legs without premature exhaustion. In his current pre-contest diet, his schedule looks like this:<\/p>\n<ul>&#13;<\/p>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"13,0,0\"><b data-index-in-node=\"0\" data-path-to-node=\"13,0,0\">Quadriceps:<\/b> 3-4 heavy isolation exercises with an emphasis on machines (e.g. Overhead Squats, Hacken Squats, Leg Press or Pendulum Squat).<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"13,1,0\"><b data-index-in-node=\"0\" data-path-to-node=\"13,1,0\">Hamstrings:<\/b> 3-4 exercises.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"13,2,0\"><b data-index-in-node=\"0\" data-path-to-node=\"13,2,0\">Glutes:<\/b> 1-2 exercises.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"13,3,0\"><b data-index-in-node=\"0\" data-path-to-node=\"13,3,0\">Calves:<\/b> 2 exercises.<\/li>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14\">This brutal amount of work is a huge leap from his off-season regimen where he trained his legs only once a week using just four exercises total.<\/p>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"15\">The goal is clear: dominate New York.<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16\">As the competition date approaches (May 8-9), Kri\u017eo is leaving nothing to chance. He&#8217;s incorporated 15-20 minutes of cardio on the treadmill into his routine, and he&#8217;s currently keeping his carbs at a generous 500 grams per day, which gives him the fullness we saw in the last chest photos.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"17\">If he can bring his monstrous, 133-pound top to the podium and present the noticeably improved and popped quadriceps from the new split, he&#8217;ll present an insurmountable problem for the rest of the starting field.
