From 20 to 22 May 2026, the fourth edition of Busworld Southeast Asia will take place at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo Kemayoran), located in one of Asia\u2019s largest bus markets.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
Indonesia, the world\u2019s fourth most populous country, ranks among the ten largest bus markets globally, driven by strong demand for public transport and continuous fleet renewal (IndexBox). The country is also recognised for its well-developed bodybuilder industry, which plays a central role in vehicle production.<\/p>\n
Strong presence of Indonesian bodybuilders<\/mark><\/p>\n
The 2026 edition will feature significant participation from Indonesia\u2019s leading bodybuilders. Companies such as Adi Putro, Laksana, Tentrem and New Armada will participate for the fourth consecutive edition, collectively representing around 80% of the local market.<\/p>\n
They will be joined by Piala Mas, which will participate for the first time at Busworld Southeast Asia, further strengthening the presence of Indonesia\u2019s top manufacturers on a single platform.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
The combined participation of these companies reflects the strength and maturity of the Indonesian bus industry, where local manufacturers play a dominant role in vehicle production and design, while maintaining strong partnerships with global chassis suppliers.<\/p>\n
In addition to local players, international bus manufacturers such as Golden Dragon are also expected to participate, highlighting the growing global interest in the Southeast Asian market.<\/p>\n
From vehicles to a full ecosystem<\/mark><\/p>\n
The exhibition will offer a comprehensive overview of the bus and coach industry, including: \u2013 City buses, intercity buses and tourism coaches \u2013 Premium and luxury vehicles \u2013 Electric buses and future mobility solutions \u2013 Components, interiors, accessories and safety systems \u2013 Digital tools such as fleet management and smart transport technologies<\/p>\n
This reflects the evolving ASEAN market, where innovation, cost efficiency and operational performance are key drivers.<\/p>\n
Conference with ASEAN focus and high-level speakers<\/mark><\/p>\n
Alongside the exhibition, the Busworld Southeast Asia Conference will bring together policymakers, operators, manufacturers and industry experts from across the ASEAN region.<\/p>\n
The programme will feature high-level speakers from ASEAN governments, transport authorities and leading companies, along with strong participation from regional stakeholders.<\/p>\n
The conference will open with a strategic session on ASEAN\u2019s position in the global bus market and the transition towards clean, smart and connected buses. Key topics will include electrification, charging infrastructure, urban mobility policies, safety standards and digital transformation.<\/p>\n
Sessions will also address the global ambitions of Southeast Asian bodybuilders, the future of intercity transport, and the integration of multimodal transport systems. The programme will conclude with a high-level panel discussion on the future of public transport in Jakarta and its role in shaping a modern and sustainable city.<\/p>\n
