On March 20, 2026, <strong>he broke down his latest chest, calves, and abs workout at 52. Throughout the session, he focused on strong contractions and constant tension.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During his prime, Cutler cemented himself as an all-time great in the Men\u2019s Open class. He finished second to <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/ronnie-coleman-profile\/\">Ronnie Coleman<\/a> for years on the <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/history-mr-olympia\/\">Olympia<\/a> stage before reaching his full potential. In 2006, Cutler\u2019s reign began, though it was short-lived. <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/dexter-jackson-profile\/\">Dexter Jackson<\/a> managed to take the Sandow trophy from him in 2008.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cutler used the setback as fuel to mount arguably the greatest comeback in bodybuilding history. He won back the Olympia crown in 2009, and his <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/jay-cutler-quad-stomp\/\">quad stomp pose<\/a> became a legacy-defining moment. Subscribe for free!<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Standing Calf Raises\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Angled Calf Raises on Leg Press Machine<\/li>\n<li>Seated Calf Raises\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Atlantis Incline Chest Press\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Standing Arsenal Press\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>J-Bell Flies\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Low Cable Press\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Decline Bench Sit-Ups\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Leg Lifts\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Incline Treadmill for 20 Minutes\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 id=\"standing-calf-raises\">Standing Calf Raises<\/h4>\n<p>Cutler noted that volume would remain moderate throughout the workout.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cI won\u2019t go crazy, crazy volume,\u201d shared Cutler.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"angled-calf-raises-on-leg-press-machine\">Angled Calf Raises on Leg Press Machine<\/h4>\n<p>He shared that this calf raise variation hits the inside of the calf more than the outside.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThis exercise, for me, it\u2019s kind of an angled calf raise. It works really really well for my calves. I get a nice contraction. I think more I feel it in the inner than the outer. Obviously, when the knee is kind of bent, you get more of that outer calf.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"seated-calf-raises\">Seated Calf Raises<\/h4>\n<p>He proceeded with standard seated calf raises, which better target the soleus.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cPretty standard, like I said, I think we\u2019re targeting this part of the calf, even though I feel like you can\u2019t really isolate it, they say with the bent knee that it\u2019s going to target more of the soleus, right?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"atlantis-incline-chest-press\">Atlantis Incline Chest Press<\/h4>\n<p>For the chest, he started with a low seat on the incline press machine, focusing on strong contractions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll drop the seat to the bottom like a really lowered seat so I can really get under the weight,\u201d he said. \u201cReally just trying to get a good contraction on this.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"standing-arsenal-press\">Standing Arsenal Press<\/h4>\n<p>The Arsenal press is one of his favorites, and again, a solid contraction was the main goal on this movement:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cIt\u2019s become one of my favorites,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HlIyzJjZQZ8&amp;t=30s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">explained<\/a> Cutler. \u201cWhen I lock into this, I\u2019m going to actually bend down a little bit, guys. Same thing: Constant tension in the chest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cRemember, I\u2019m not trying to worry about strength as much. I\u2019m just trying to get the contraction of the movements. Really just kind of condition the muscle, and maintain, and basically with this, keep the intensity high.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"j-bell-flies\">J-Bell Flies<\/h4>\n<p>It wouldn\u2019t be a chest session without j-bell flies, a staple in Cutler\u2019s arsenal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cPretty standard with this. I did these a couple weeks ago, and I was super sore. So, with dumbbells, sometimes you can kind of, and I tend to go crazy fast, so what I\u2019m going to do with these\u2026 I\u2019m going to do these almost like a pressing movement; you can do this as a fly. There\u2019s lots of variations of this. Remember, low seat guys.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"decline-bench-sit-ups\">Decline Bench Sit-Ups<\/h4>\n<p>Moving on to abs, he achieved a greater range of motion by performing sit-ups with the bench at a decline.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf you guys incorporate some sit-ups on this decline bench, every other day. If you notice what\u2019s going on here, I\u2019m inverted so it\u2019s pulling my spine. That\u2019s the key to abs.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"leg-lifts\">Leg Lifts\u00a0\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p>To finish off his midsection, Cutler stuck with leg lifts on the Roman chair.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cOne of my favorite exercises, little leg lifts. I do it in the Roman chair.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After a 20-minute incline treadmill walk, the bodybuilding star called it a day. Whether it\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/jay-cutler-leg-press-detail-size-and-shape\/\">bigger legs<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/jay-cutler-workout-for-bigger-arms\/\">arms<\/a>, Cutler has tailor-made workouts to get the job done. Above all else, he always prioritizes a full range of motion and quality contractions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cutler hasn\u2019t stopped pushing himself in retirement at 52.
