On Feb. 27, 2026, <strong>he broke down his latest pump-focused workout for bigger arms.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/15599\/jay-cutler\/\">Jay Cutler<\/a> paid his dues before reaching the top of the sport. He took runner-up behind <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/ronnie-coleman-profile\/\">Ronnie Coleman<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/history-mr-olympia\/\">Mr. Olympia<\/a> for four consecutive years. After dethroning \u201cThe King\u201d in 2006, it appeared he was on track for a similar dynasty.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, in 2008, <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/dexter-jackson-profile\/\">Dexter Jackson<\/a> defeated Cutler, earning his lone Sandow trophy. This set the table for Cutler\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/jay-cutler-quad-stomp\/\">massive comeback in 2009<\/a>, when he won the contest handily. I\u2019m standing on this one but you know, pretty close to a machine. This is a great exercise to always start your routine. You can\u2019t start with a compound exercise, pre-exhaust, do something that\u2019s going to be not so hurtful on the elbows or the joints. \u201c<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"overhead-cable-extensions\">Overhead Cable Extensions\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p>He clapped back against those suggesting that cable exercises are only for detail. Cutler believes they can help lifters achieve more size as long as they maintain intensity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cWe talk about the cables and the constant tension. Anyone that says cables are for cutting or for more exercises to work in detail, bullshit. It\u2019s more you can still get a lot of size. It just comes down to the intensity,\u201d he shared. \u201cWe still want to have bigger arms.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"dip-machine\">Dip Machine\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p>He kept the weight moderate on the dip machine as his final triceps-focused exercise.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cTwo plates and a quarter is perfect on this, but I need to go a little heavier, but I can\u2019t go three. Three plates is a little too much.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"bicep-curl-machine\">Bicep Curl Machine\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p>Moving on to biceps, Cutler resumed his workout on the curl machine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cPeople would rather train on the old-school equipment,\u201d added Cutler.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"machine-preacher-curls\">Machine Preacher Curls<\/h4>\n<p>Cutler continued working his biceps with machine preacher curls.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"fv-newsletter\" style=\"background:#fff;border:1px solid #e0e0e0;border-radius:8px;padding:30px 35px;margin:30px 0;box-shadow:0 2px 10px rgba(0,0,0,.06);\">\n<h3 style=\"margin:0 0 15px;font-size:1.5em;font-weight:700;color:#222;\">Get Fitter, <em>Faster<\/em><\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin:0 0 20px;font-size:1em;color:#444;line-height:1.6;\">Level Up Your Fitness: Join our \ud83d\udcaa strong community in Fitness Volt Newsletter. We talk about this all the time,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UOnpwdu0mOY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a> Cutler. \u201cWe have the j-bells here. You put your hand in the middle of this thing. It\u2019s like a bowling ball. Very equal weight, no matter what position it is in. I love doing these for biceps.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h4 id=\"standing-barbell-curls\">Standing Barbell Curls\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p>He finished with standing barbell curls while standing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cI\u2019m going to do standing barbell, which is sloppy form,\u201d said Cutler. \u201cI got a good pump going, so mission accomplished.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In between training sessions, Cutler still keeps an eye on the Men\u2019s Open class. He recently <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/jay-cutler-talks-andrew-jacked-can-win-2026-arnold-classic-mr-olympia\/\">backed Chinedu Andrew Obiekea<\/a> to win the 2026 Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia titles this season. Jacked is coming off a bronze finish at Olympia and a win at the <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/2025-romania-muscle-fest-pro-results\/\">Romania Pro<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cutler still trains seven days a week to maintain his physique in retirement.
