Mark McMillan strangled two of his victims, choking one so much she lost consciousness, and even sexually abused victims while they slept.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The 47-year-old also lashed out when he did not have access to <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/crime\/\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">cocaine<\/a>. He left the women, who can&#8217;t be named for legal reasons, physically and mentally traumatised after attacking them at properties in Ayrshire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The burly brute was blasted for his crimes and placed on the Sex Offenders&#8217; Register for life at the High Court in Kilmarnock. They found him guilty of five charges following a trial at the High Court in Kilmarnock in December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The dad-of-three appeared at the same court today, via video link, for <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/crime\/\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">sentencing<\/a>. Lord Harrower said: &#8220;You were found guilty of five charges involving the rape and sexual assault of three women over the course of about 18 months, all aggravated by involving the abuse of your partner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Two charges were further aggravated by you being on bail at the relevant time. You are clearly someone capable of inspiring affection, even from different women at the same time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;In the case of two of them, you placed your hands around their necks and applied pressure to such an extent that they could hardly breathe &#8211; in one instance causing a loss of consciousness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;You treated your partners as mere objects for your own sexual gratification. He imposed an extended <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/crime\/\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">sentence<\/a> on McMillan, who attacked his victims in Stevenston and Kilwinning, which will see him supervised in the community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Lord Harrower said: &#8220;I am imposing an extended sentence in order to protect women from serious harm from you when you are released.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">He will be monitored for three years in the community and was also placed on the<a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/crime\/\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\"> Sex Offenders&#8217; Register<\/a> indefinitely. And he was made the subject of indefinite Non-Harassment Orders, banning him from approaching or contacting his victims for the rest of his life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">He said it was necessary as McMillan, who maintains his <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/crime\/\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">innocence<\/a>, had indicated he intended to confront one of his victims over her claims against him. Lord Harrower said he felt the sentences individually would have warranted sentences totalling 19 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">But he said that &#8220;would be excessive&#8221; and imposed an &#8220;in cumulo sentence in relation to all five charges&#8221;.
