While it has been described as extremely difficult, it was the best way to grow.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAt his heaviest, he was eating around 6,500-7,000 calories each day. It\u2019s a lot of food but it was what he needed to build this machine.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>From 1992-1997, Yates did not lose a competition and racked up six-consecutive\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/generationiron.com\/mr-olympia-winners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Olympia titles<\/a>. Following his final victory on the biggest stage, Yates retired from bodybuilding after suffering different injuries. A couple hours later, I\u2019d have a protein shake then about an hour, hour and a half after that, I\u2019m in the gym training.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-post-workout\">Post-Workout<\/h4>\n<p>After a long workout in the gym, Yates would have another protein shake mixed with amino acids and creatine. Then once he got home, it was time for another meal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI would drive home, and at home I would have chicken or turkey breast normally. Rice, vegetables, sleep, get up, another protein shake, some rice. Maybe three hours later, have some beef, sweet potato, veggie.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The meals did not shrink as the day went on.
