Jayne Trcka, a professional bodybuilder who appeared in “Scary Movie,” has reportedly died. She was 62.<\/p>\n

Trcka’s son told TMZ<\/a> in an article published Jan 5 that she died Dec. 12, and the San Diego Medical Examiner confirmed her death to both TMZ and The New York Post<\/a>. The medical examiner didn’t cite a cause, however, and her son told TMZ he was not aware of any previous medical conditions.<\/p>\n

USA TODAY has reached out to the San Diego Medical Examiner’s office and Trcka’s reps for comment.<\/p>\n

Isiah Whitlock Jr.<\/a>, a veteran character actor known for his work on “The Wire,” “Veep” and several Spike Lee films<\/a>, died on Tuesday, Dec. 30. He was 71. <\/p>\n

The actor, recognizable by his round cheeks and warm smile, passed away in New York after battling a short illness. Whitlock’s manager, Brian Liebman, confirmed the news on Instagram and in a statement to Deadline<\/a>, saying, “Isiah was a brilliant actor and even better person. He was loved by all who had the pleasure to work with or know him. He will be greatly missed.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Trcka grew up in Minnesota, excelling in gymnastics, according to her IMDb biography. After a brief stint in graphic communications, she moved to San Diego in the early mid 1980s and took up weight training. Quickly turning from hobby to profession, Trcka placed at the top of local bodybuilding contests and continued competing at the national level for decades.<\/p>\n

Trcka landed what would become her signature role as Miss Mann in 2000’s “Scary Movie,” a cult classic comedy parodying the horror genre, which spawned several sequels. Miss Mann, the girls’ gym teacher in the film, never gets a first name, but plays an integral role, delivering a pep talk that deeply disturbs main character, Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris). During the talk, Cindy catches Miss Mann sniffing women’s underwear, then stuffing it back into her desk.<\/p>\n

Trcka’s success in the role led to other jobs in the industry, including a guest spot on “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and an appearance in Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” music video in 2010.<\/p>\n
